I made many attempts at creating this effect with Boris FX.
Each time I finished back on the Media Composer timeline with the effect ready for rendering.
After I rendered the effect - IT DISAPPEARED!!!

By chance I found that, while I was in Boris FX, if I added any other effect as well as the reveal one - I could return to MC and the reveal showed up as it should after rendering.
However I had also the 2nd effect present.
That is when I came up with the idea of adding a "Gradient Media" effect as the second one.
But I carefully removed any alpha channel effects from it so that it was invisible in the final render.

There is probably a simpler and more correct way to do this.

I should add that this is my first Video Tutorial completed in Camtasia Studio 5 and there are lots of errors in my method.
